Broward county solar panel incentives are out there. It’s important to know just what you are eligible for by going solar in this part of South Florida! Many customers often mistakenly think that going solar is just a big home expense. This often isn’t the case. While the savings are individual for everyone, our goal is to get you to actually save money by going solar. Florida solar panel laws have always been a point of contention. However, they are in the consumer’s favor right now, so there is no better time to switch to solar in Broward!
Governor DeSantis Recently Helped Save the Solar Industry in Florida.
At the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022 Florida Solar Panel Law was in question. Lucky for us, at the end of April DeSantis vetoed the legislation to put an end to net metering – that was largely in favor of large corporations keeping money in their pockets, rather than putting it in yours – through independent solar energy.
At the time, Bison Co-Founder Adam Coughlin said: “For months now, the state of independent solar energy has been in limbo, leaving companies such as Bison – and more importantly our customers – with an uncertain future. Thanks to the veto of the net metering bill, we can continue to serve our customers and save money for Florida homeowners in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.”

Broward County Solar Panel Incentives Going on Now.
If you live in Broward County, it is a great time to go solar. Here are some of the top reasons to go solar today!
- Tax Credits. Right now, most homeowners with taxable income are eligible for a 26% tax return on their solar investment when they file their taxes in the beginning of 2023. These numbers are going to go down year by year. As 2022 is almost half-way over, the faster you can put solar on your property, the more likely you are to make the most return on your investment when filing your taxes!
- Net Metering. This is the point we touched on above. Net metering allows you to receive credit for any surplus energy you produce. It will come back to you in the form of financial credits from FPL. Legislation was passed in Florida to put an end to net metering, but lucky for us DeSantis made a move in our (and your) favor. However, this probably won’t be the last time net metering becomes a legal issue, so get in while you can!
- Home Value. This one isn’t a specific Broward County solar panel incentive, but still good to know. When you add solar to your home, your property value goes up significantly. The housing market is already exploding, so if you plan on selling, adding solar is a great marketing tool for your home, and also allows you to hike up the price! Even if you don’t plan on selling, having solar will increase your home value for years to come. Solar energy is easily transferable to the next owner of your home, should you choose to sell.
