A Timeline of Solar Panel Installation
How does solar panel installation work? It all starts with an appointment with one of our solar experts. At this appointment, they will speak to you about your individual solar needs and concerns, if any. They take a look at your average kilowatt usage over the course of a year. From there they look at your roof to determine the optimal placement of solar panels.
From there, a solar panel system is developed uniquely for you, your home, and your energy needs. All documentation is signed, sealed, and delivered. What happens next?
Before any permits are pulled, Bison will schedule a Site Survey to make sure the layout proposed to you meets all code requirements and gets your seal of approval before being submitted to your local building department. We also work with your HOA to make sure your solar panels fit their standards. Then we pull together all permits, materials, and other necessary items to get your job done. This process usually takes between two to four months.
Permitting is the longest part of the process, and is what causes the longest lead-time between when you sign and when the final product is delivered.
What Happens During Solar Panel Installation?
When you get your appointment for solar panel installation, the duration of installation depends on the size of the project. In general, it shouldn’t take more than a week. You don’t need to plan on being away from home, or making any arrangements. Our best-in-industry workers will make sure everything is completed in a timely manner, while making sure the results are impeccable.

After Your Solar Panels Are Installed
